Roan / Rn
Warm Dawn with smooth maximum roan - Cold Black with minimal textured roan with cornspots
Roan is a color effecting gene that dilutes the coat, making it lighter and desaturated.
It affects the body while the head, limbs and tails remain unaffected.
Marking rules
- At minimum roan ALWAYS affects the centaurs lower torso. It's optional to reach upper torso as well.
- Roan always lightens the body, desaturating it's color slightly.
> Roan should never be lightened to the point it resembles another basecolor, or that it seems closer to white than the original basecolor. - Roan has no layering rules and can sit over or under markings.
- Roan can be smooth and uniform, but it can also have cornspots: small irregular dotting that creates "holes" into the roan, showing the basecolor or marking color underneath the marking.
Marking Edges
Roan can feature 1-2 edge types
This marking can have slight, SMALL holes or be solid. It cannot have complex edges
Real life examples
These examples represents what the marking is based on. Please keep the marking rules in mind when designing, and don't rely too heavily on real life markings carrying the same name. These examples can work as an inspiration, not direct references.
