Recolor is a gene that affects existing markings. It allows one marking to display any color imaginable and removes lighter/darker restrictions from the chosen marking.

Marking rules

  • Recolor lets you go wild. For one marking you can pick any color from the color wheel
  • Markings with multiple colors such as Merle and Leopard can choose to recolor either one of the markings color, or all of them. If all of the markings colors are recolored, they must still be of same hue (meaning, no green and orange together for example)
  • Recolor can only show up with another marking. If your centaur doesn't have any other markings in their genotype, Recolor can be used for free markings, or left as a carried gene not shown in design.
  • Lighter or darker than basecolor restrictions can be ignored
  • Recolor cannot depict shine or glitter, unless combined with Gleam.
  • Recolor cannot depict color gradients, unless combined with Hue.
  • Recolor needs to follow Albinism, Melanism and Erythrism mutations color affecting rules.
