Chimerism
A chimeric centaur is born as two genotypes in one body as a result of two embryos merging into one.
Chimerism is a randomly occurring mutation and has a chance be inherited from parents.
When a chimeric centaur is born, they are rolled two genotypes from their parents, separated from each other with //.
Example genotype of the Equine male above:
Cold White with Bicolor, Mozzetta and Wind // Warm Brown with Mantle, Spots and Harlequin
C/Wh+Bc/Mz/Wn // W/Br+Mn/Sp/Ha
Only one genotype will be heritable. The centaurs owner must choose which side when submitting the centaur to design approvals. This choice cannot be changed later. The heritable side is underlined in the import information.
Genetics cannot be moved from one genotype side to another. When breeding a chimeric centaur, their offspring can only inherit genetics from the one chosen genotype side.
Designing a chimeric centaur
When designing a chimeric centaur, both genotype sides need to be clearly visible in the design.
One genotype side needs to in minimum cover about 10% of the centaurs body.
Other side design is always required with chimeric centaurs in design approvals!
It is recommended to design both genotype designs, have them as two layers, and merge them together by removing parts of one design side. Markings must clearly sit on correct design side to correspond to genotypes, they cannot migrate to sit on other genotype sides design. Visible markings must follow marking rules on both genotype side designs.
If your chimera rolls a color modifying mutation, you can choose the mutation to either affect one side, or both.
Physical mutations will sit fully on the body normally.
The border between two genotypes is always sharp-edged! It cannot be soft, blended, faded or have any halo effect.
Below you can see some example expression of a chimeric centaur design. You are not limited to these examples however.
Example design submission for a chimeric centaur. Remember to always:
1) Mention which genotype side the centaur will have as heritable
2) Link the other wise design on design notes. Include other relevant design notes
